Reflecting Back for a Moment

This past year has many new ideas, thoughts and emotions unrelated to work.  May I share with you.

My daughter got married in March to a handsome guy. Now she is unique and special just like your daughter is unique to you.  Victoria is high maintenance and I just hope he discovered this truism before he said, “I do”.  I am saving some money now. So I am happy.

In June I was blessed with Bells’ Palsy. I had never heard of it but it came upon me very suddenly.  Bells is simply the muscles on one side of your face that does not function.  Staying near home for a couple of months I chose then decided I have to move on.  See with Bells your taste buds do not work.  Food did not taste good so I did not eat much and lost about 15 pounds.  There are still remnants of Bells today but I have made my wife happy with it. She has made eating easier. A lot of things she said was good and healthy I ate and did not mind a bit.  I couldn’t taste it anyway.

And finally the wife and I went to visit our daughter and her new husband a few days ago.  After nine months away from home I could still see that high maintenance I spoke of earlier.

We only stayed a couple of days and drove back to Alabama.

All in all it has been a good year  many new ideas, thoughts and emotions.  I hope you have been blessed as much as I have.  Happy New Year to You and Yours

In home air pollution today is still one of the country’s most grievous health. Ozone is used in the treatment of water

purification plants even as far back as the 1906 in France. More than  2,000 plants worldwide are

protecting individuals from various illnesses and diseases by using ozone water purification.

A reverse mortgage is a special type of home loan that lets a homeowner convert a portion of the equity

in his or her home into cash. The equity built up over years of home mortgage payments can be paid to

. But unlike a traditional home equity loan or second mortgage, no repayment is required until the

borrower(s) no longer use the home as their principal residence. HUD’s reverse mortgage provides these

benefits, and it is federally-insured as well.

2. Can I qualify for a HUD reverse mortgage?

To be eligible for a HUD reverse mortgage, HUD’s Federal Housing Administration (FHA) requires that

the borrower is a homeowner, 62 years of age or older; own your home outright, or have a low mortgage

balance that can be paid off at the closing with proceeds from the reverse loan; and must live in the

home. You are further required to receive consumer information from HUD-approved counseling

sources prior to obtaining the loan.

3. Can I apply if I didn’t buy my present house with FHA mortgage insurance?

Yes. While your property must meet HUD minimum property standards, it doesn’t matter if you didn’t

buy it with an FHA-insured mortgage. Your new HUD reverse mortgage will be a new FHA-insured

mortgage loan.

# 3 – Identity Theft is Fueling Higher Rates of New Account Fraud and New Fraud Schemes Like IRS Tax Fraud

One indication that fraud is bad is the frequency of new and emerging fraud schemes.  One area that really surprises me is the growth and frequency of Identity Theft fraud schemes.  I had always assumed that Identity Theft was well covered.

The only issue is that Identity Fraud is so lucrative that the fraudsters have reinvented their techniques and doubled down on their efforts.  The result of these efforts?  A 113% increase in new account fraud as reported by Javelin research.  New Account fraud, according to their study now represents 20% of all reported fraud losses.  To make matters worse they are reporting that new account fraud losses will continue to climb another 41% each year.  New Account fraud is already up an additional 10% since EMV went live in the US last October.

And don’t forget about IRS Tax Fraud.  Never heard of it?  Here is a little primer on it  in this article – IRS Tax Return Fraud.   Since 2013, IRS Tax return fraud has soared and the government has been paying billions in fraudulent tax returns.

To make matters worse, close to 1 billion tax returns were breached in the last couple of years.
